Lesson and Class Descriptions

 


All classes & lessons are weekly unless noted otherwise. 

 

 

Piano, Private

Half hour lesson of piano instruction on beginning or intermediate levels.  Lesson includes ear training activities.

Singing, Private

 

Half  hour lesson of vocal instruction for teens and adults.  Lesson stresses breathing for singing, good vocal production, increasing range, finding vocal resonance, and working in a variety of styles or the style of the student's choice.  Singing may be combined with music reading and/or solfege in 45 minute lessons. 


We Hear and Play


Piano instruction for toddlers beginning instruction at ages 3 to 4 1/2.  Also includes instruction in absolute pitch ability.  For more information see

Music Through Song

Singing, Group
 

 


Half hour lesson (private or semi-private) of singing and music instruction for kids ages 6 to 11.  Lessons focus on music reading, solfege, basic singing techniques, movement to music, and more.


50 minute lesson with two focuses:

  • to learn good vocal production, and

  • to become comfortable and proficient performing in front of others.

  • Classes have a minimum enrollment of 3 students and a maximum of 8.

  • Classes follow the Music Through Song(c) program. 

  • Please inquire as to the classes available or to express interest and gather a group to form a class.

45 minute lesson

  • for parent/care-giver and child(ren) ages 6 months to 5 years. 

  • Includes musical interaction and activities designed to foster music enjoyment, build rhythm and tonal perception, and much more. 

  • Will bring out a love of music in any young child. 

 

Half hour lessons of beginning guitar instruction.  Includes chords, music reading of both traditional music notation and TAB.

 

 

45 minute lessons, 30 minutes of piano & music reading, 15 minutes of singing instruction. 

 

The following are classes or lessons available upon request or that I am interested in forming.

  • Large-group instruction (such as for musical play presentation, a choir, etc.)

  • Musicianship (sight singing, music theory, etc.)

  • Children's Choir

  • Performance Class (or "masters" class) for any music student interested in performance practice and opportunity on any instrument or for voice

Please Note I have a cat.  She tends to be very friendly and will come up to you and jump in your lap. If you are allergic, afraid of cats, or for any reason would not be comfortable with a cat wandering through the room please let me know and I can arrange that she be elsewhere.
